| At about 0130Z on 8/8/2006, a small, very active, thunderstorm complex moved through central NJ. The anvil passed overhead in advance of the cell(s), and vivid cloud-air/cloud-cloud lightning was visible for a while before the rain began. Note the moon is visible just beyond the edge of the anvil (~10:00 in pictures 3-5). The orientation of the camera changed, but the lighting always moves "W but N" towards "E but S". |
